How does arming and disarming work with my Display Hub+?

Arming your panel is a crucial step in keeping your home and loved ones safe. It provides protection against intruders and grants of peace of mind for your safety. Arming your Display Hub+ provides:

  • Protection against intruders: Arming your panel is the first line of defense against potential intruders. When armed, the system can detect any unauthorized entry and trigger an alarm, which can help deter intruders from attempting to enter your home.

  • Peace of mind: Arming your panel can give you peace of mind knowing that your home is protected, whether you're at home or away. You can rest assured that your property is being monitored and that you'll be notified if any unusual activity is detected.

There are 3 different arming modes with your Display Hub+, read below to learn about each one:

1) Arm Away

Arm Away arms all sensors and detectors, including door and window sensors, motion detectors, and glass break sensors. If any of these sensors are triggered, the alarm will sound, and you will receive an alert. This mode should be used when no one is home. A locked red lock and System Armed on the home screen of the Display Hub+ means your system is in Arm Away mode.

Arm in the Away mode by pressing the current status on the home screen of the Display Hub+ and tapping Arm Away on the screen. Arm Away remotely by tapping Arm (Away) from the Security System section of the Frontpoint app.

When the system arms Away, the Display Hub+ shows a countdown on screen and beeps for 60 seconds. This countdown is called the Exit Delay and is the amount of time you have to leave the home and ensure all monitored sensors are closed before the system is actively armed Away.

1
Tap the arrow on the system arming pop-up to access additional arming options. After your preferred settings are selected, tap the desired arming state to finish arming your system.

2
Listed here are sensors that would be bypassed (ignored) when the system is armed, if they are still active once the system arms. Specific sensors you wish to bypass regardless of sensor state can be bypassed by tapping ALL and selecting the sensor(s) you desire to bypass when the system arms.

3
Disable exit sounds (beeps heard after arming) or disable the entry delay (30 second countdown triggered when a sensor is activated) from this menu by tapping them.

When a sensor is activated, the Display Hub+ starts a countdown and beep for 30 seconds. At this time the system should be disarmed with the master code. If the system is not disarmed and the countdown reaches 0, the siren sounds.

  • This countdown is called the Entry Delay and is the amount of time you have when entering the home to disarm the system either on the Display Hub+ or with the Frontpoint app before the siren sounds and an alarm is triggered. By default, the Entry Delay is set to 30 seconds.

2) Arm Stay

Arm Stay only arms sensors for perimeter protection, like your Door/ Window sensors. Motion Sensors inside the house are disabled, allowing you to move around freely without triggering the alarm. This mode should be used when someone is home and moving around freely in the home, but would like the protection of the system. A locked orange lock and System Armed Stay on the home screen of the Display Hub+ means your system is in Arm Stay mode.

Arm in the Stay mode by pressing the current status on the home screen of the Display Hub+ and tapping Arm Stay on the screen. Arm Stay remotely by tapping Arm (Stay) from the Security System section of the Frontpoint app. The Display Hub+ automatically arms Stay when Arm Stay is tapped, there is no exit delay by default for this mode.

3) Disarmed

An unlocked green lock and System Disarmed on the home screen of the Display Hub+ means your system is in Disarmed mode. No sensors are active when the system is Disarmed, sensors won't trigger an alarm when activated. This mode should be used when frequently opening and closing doors with Door/Window Sensors or you would like to ensure no sensors are accidently triggered causing a false alarm.

If the system is armed, disarm the system by tapping the current system status on the screen and enter your 4-digit master code (or user code allowed to disarm), or disarm from the Frontpoint app.
