My IQ Touchscreen Control Panel is reporting a low battery

The Control Panel reporting a low battery can be a result of one of the following:

  • The backup battery connection inside the control panel is not complete

  • The battery is not reading a good charge due to a recent power supply issue (panel left unplugged or recent power outage)

  • The backup battery is completely drained and is no longer holding a charge

The IQ Touchscreen Control Panel uses a 2500Ah lithium ion backup battery in the event of a power outage at the location or if the panel is unplugged for any given amount of time. At full charge, the backup battery will last up to 24 hours and is also rechargeable once power is restored to the property.

  • The battery is not reading a good charge due to a recent power supply issue (panel left unplugged or recent power outage)

  • The backup battery is completely drained and is no longer holding a charge

The Simon XT Control Panel uses a 6 VDC backup battery in the event of a power outage at the location or if the panel is unplugged for any given amount of time. At full charge, the backup battery will last up to 24 hours and is rechargeable once power is restored to the property.

If you had a recent power outage or unplugged the panel recently and the panel is reporting a low battery, please allow the panel 24 hours to fully charge the battery.
