How does the Smoke & Heat Sensor detect smoke to trigger an alarm?

The Smoke & Heat Sensor uses heat detection and photoelectric technology to trigger an alarm. It will trigger an alarm under any of these conditions:

  • There is a sudden rise in temperature (15 degrees F or more in 1 minute)

  • The overall temperature rises to over 135 degrees F

  • There is smoke in the air
