Using the Explore Google Home app on Android:
- Open Google Assistant on the mobile device. Most commonly, it can be opened by pressing and holding the home button on the mobile device.
- Tap on the Compass icon. This icon may look different depending on the Android device used.
- In Explore, enter Alarm.com in the search field, and then tap the Alarm.com card.
- Tap Link for Alarm.com.
- Using the MyFrontpoint username and password, log into Alarm.com and link the account to the user's Google Home.
- Tap Allow.
- The Alarm.com account is now synced with Google Home.
Using the Explore in the Google Home app in iOS:
- Open the Google Home app on the mobile device.
- Tap the Account icon as shown in the following image
- In Google Assistant, tap Explore. This navigates to the Google Assistant app
- Enter Alarm.com in the search field, and then tap Alarm.com in the search results.
- Tap Link.
- Using your MyFrontpoint username and password, log into Alarm.com and link the account to the user's Google Home.
- Tap Allow.
- The Alarm.com account is now synced with Google Home.
Example of commands that can be used with Google Home:
Important: Always start the command to Google Home by saying, "Ok Google, ask Alarm.com...." or "Hey Google, ask Alarm.com....".
- To interact by the garage door's name, say the exact garage door name in the command. For example, if there is a garage door named entrance, users could say, "Close the entrance."
- "Switch on the office light."
- “Lock the doors.”
- “Is my panel currently armed away?”
- "Turn up heat by three degrees."
