No, the Hub can function entirely without Wi-Fi by using solely the cellular communication. However, we strongly recommend connecting your Hub to Wi-Fi, as it will be used as a primary source of communication and is often much faster. Additionally, it is the recommended method of communication while pushing through firmware updates to the Hub.
