Set up Rules in the Frontpoint app or website to automate your smart lights or plugs- making them more intelligent and responsive to events that occur.
When configured, your smart lights or plugs can be triggered by alarms, arming or disarming, sensor activity, or Smart Door Lock activity to turn on/off any of the smart lights or smart plugs connected to your system.
For inspiration to set up your own automated smart light or plug rules, a few customer favorites include:

- Turning lights on when the Motion Sensor detects motion
- Turning your smart plugs on or off when a door is opened or closed
- Turning your lights on or off when the system is armed or disarmed
- Turning smart plugs on when an alarm is triggered

Create smart light or plug automation rules using the Frontpoint app
1) Log in to your account on the Frontpoint app.
2) Tap on Rules in the navigation menu.
3) Select an existing rule to modify it or tap "+" to create a new rule.
4) Tap Select to the right of "when" to select when the rule activates.
5) Tap on the device or event that will be used to trigger the rule - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.
6) Choose the action that will trigger the rule to start, then tap Done in the top right corner.
7) Tap Select to the right of "then" to select the action that will occur when the rule is triggered.
8) Tap Light to select a light or smart plug to turn on or off when the rule is triggered - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.
9) Choose your smart light or plug device and if it will turn on or off when the rule is triggered. Tap Done in the top right corner.
10) Tap Run at all times to select whether the rule will run all the time or at specific times and on certain days.
11) Enter a name for your rule.
12) Tap Save in the top right corner.
Create light or smart plug automation rules on MyFrontpoint.com
1) Log in to your account on MyFrontpoint.com.
2) Click Automation in the left-hand menu.
3) Click + Add New Rule.
4) Click New Rules Builder.
5) Click on the device or event that will be used to trigger the rule - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.
6) Choose the action that will trigger the rule to start, then click Done in the bottom right corner.
7) Click Select to the right of "then" to select the action that will occur when the rule is triggered.
8) Click Light to select a light or smart plug to turn on or off when the rule is triggered - device options are determined by the equipment on your system.
9) Choose your smart light or plug device and if it will turn on or off when the rule is triggered. Tap Done in the top right corner.
10) Click Run at all times to select whether the rule will run all the time or at specific times and on certain days.
11) Enter a name for your rule.
12) Click Save in the bottom right corner.
